Video games are always a great standard for reviewing gaming devices. While we can drone on about specs and features for ages, it’s the actual gameplay that always tells the truth. With demanding graphics, heavy processing needs, and evolving limits, video game developers have inadvertently pushed manufacturers to create better devices that are more capable, durable, and powerful.
At REDMAGIC, we welcome this challenge with open arms and encourage the motivation to do better with each release. Today, we’ll be looking at one of the top mobile video games in the industry and seeing how our latest flagship gaming smartphone fares. We’ll be exploring the reviews of PUBG Mobile with the REDMAGIC 11 Pro to see how well the phone stacks up against a cult classic. For now, let’s look at the game itself before we go further.
Battle Royale Royalty
The battle royale genre rose to popularity alongside the emergence of online gaming in the 2000s. Inspired by the Japanese film by the same name, battle royale games generally follow the last-man-standing premise, pitting multiple players against one another in an arena and asking them to eliminate other opponents until only one winner remains.
Inspired by the same film, Brendan Greene pioneered the original PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) in 2017 for PC platforms. The game was then ported for Xbox and PlayStation before finally making its way to mobile in 2018. PUBG Mobile immediately took off the same way the original game did, keeping the same pressure till today, with more than 69 million active players as of March 2026.
PUBG Mobile immediately set a precedent as one of the most popular battle royale games around, earning acclaim and reverence in the gaming community, while building its own. The general premise of the game remains close to the original: a hundred players land on the battleground and are required to scavenge for supplies, eliminate opposition, and cover as much ground as possible in a shrinking arena.
Players can use various maps, gaming modes, and customizable controls, alongside a voice chat feature for more coordinated attacks. Players can choose to survive solo, in a duo, or in a squad with multiple players. The fast-paced shooter game requires tactical coordination, precision, and quick reflexes. Powered by Unreal Engine 4, another standout of the game is its high-quality graphics that ensure realistic, immersive, and stunning gameplay.
All these traits make PUBG Mobile the ideal vehicle to test out the strengths of almost any gaming smartphone, which is why it’s a popular choice for most reviewers. Now, let’s take a look at what some reviews of the REDMAGIC 11 Pro say when running this adrenaline-packed game.

PUBG Mobile Goes Pro
The REDMAGIC 11 Pro has been out for quite some time now, and many reviewers have already had the chance to test out the powerhouse device for themselves. Let’s take a look at some of the PUBG Mobile gameplay results so far. On his YouTube page, Xifan tested out the 11 Pro with PUBG Mobile and found that the game played smoothly, effortlessly boosting the frame rate to 120fps with frame interpolation for the first time. However, after updating his PUBG Mobile, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor was immediately more optimized for gameplay.

He noted that a much smoother 120 fps and HDR 90fps were now available, allowing him to play seamlessly on Balanced mode for quite a while. Soon after, he amped things up and switched to Diablo mode. While he found the FPS noticeably more stable, the gameplay remained impeccably smooth. He also noted that while the phone did heat up a bit, frame rates never dropped, and the 11 Pro’s liquid cooling immediately got to work cooling the device, even in Diablo mode. In our internal testing, the REDMAGIC 11 Pro runs Ultra HD graphics smoothly at a native 60FPS. With frame generation enabled and graphics enhancement set to high, performance can be boosted to a stable 120FPS. This is a power not many high end devices can achieve since it causes overheating but with the liquid cooling and the turbo fan, it is possible for the REDMAGIC 11 Pro.
TA Tech also took to reviewing the 11 Pro whilst playing PUBG Mobile in his earlier YouTube review. With the settings changed to ultra-HD graphics and the frame rate boost on, he found that the phone ran the game perfectly. He also noted that the stability of the frame rates remained untouched and that the liquid cooling kept the temperature down after playing for a while.
