REDMAGIC Astra 2 Gaming Tablet

Red Magic Astra 2 Gaming Tablet - I know it’s only been a few days but I am enjoying this tablet…it is small compared to other tablets, it’s easy to manage when holding, very clear, and super fast. I am able to keep up in/with the games I am playing-without lagging or freezing. I have been playing a couple hours on it at a time; it doesn’t get hot/over heated like my phone. As of right now, I’ve only downloaded a few games; so storage is looking good so far.

Fulfills all my needs and more. The specs allow me to figure out some interesting things about android gaming. Also, I normally see no value in tablets. If you're getting a tablet, get one that has some real power like this one.

Love it only complaint i have is the first astra had better sound in game than the astra2 or atheist the first astra I had did but I love it maybe add bumpers to top for some games like the phones have and dolby atmos we need it on astra please thank u again

This RedMagic Astra 2 is very good, I'm happy about it.

I play mostly war robots. Up until now I thought i had lag from the internet or my connnection. Even replaced the wifi at home. Just got my astra 2 and everything runs smoothly, i cant stop playing. Also went to full quality at 60 frames per second and I play way better.

Love it

Really nice product.
With the 185hhz and oled screen.
This is better than my ROG Ally.

I am impressed with all the virtues that this tablet has, it fulfills its function 1000%, before I had not had the privilege of trying a tablet as powerful as the Astra 2, I am very satisfied and I highly recommend it to people who love the games like me, it is a wonderful experience that I had never had before... I love this tablet and I thank the red magic team for this product

I got the 16GB / 512GB version and I'm super happy with it.
*Quality* feels top tier, full metal, really solid build, OLED looks amazing.

*Value* - For the specs you get (16GB RAM and 512GB storage) I think it's totally worth it, you get double the storage and RAM and it will last years.

*Performance* is crazy with that extra RAM. I play COD Mobile maxed out with no problem, Minecraft Bedrock and Java both run perfect even with higher render distance and mods, and I tried GTA V and Warzone and everything was great, no stutter at all. That 16GB RAM really helps when switching games.

*User Experience* is smooth, battery is a beast, I can game for hours, and having 512GB means I can install everything without worrying.

*Design* - love the size, 9" is perfect for hands and backpack, looks premium.

Best compact gaming tablet right now, if you can get the 16/512 do it.

My 1st official gaming tablet and I can honestly say it blew my mind. I love the size fits perfectly in my hand when gaming, also fits perfectly anywhere I carry it in including my pockets. The liquid cooling is phenomenal and works beautifully, and the cherry on top for me is the upgraded oled screen from gaming to streaming my favorite shows and movies. If you were to add an SD card option on the side to be able to add personal internet data then it would become the world's most perfect tablet. But other then that I truly appreciate the design and everything this tablet has to offer you have no idea how long i waited for a gaming tablet just like this one!

After owning an 11 Pro for the better part of the year, was definitely looking forward to this tablet when the whispers started happening. The original Astra sold out before I made the jump to Red Magic but it had my attention.

For the Astra 2, the addition of liquid cooling grabbed me right away. The liquid cooling in the phone was a huge selling point. For this tablet, even more so. I'd owned a Legion a couple years back and the biggest issue I had was it turned into a hand warmer on heavy gaming days. Good for winter, not for every day.

The OLED screen is amazing. Vibrant, crisp, and the ridiculous 185hz refresh rate keeps it smooth when gaming or watching YouTube. The second USB-C port is great as well. I've used it for wired earphones and plugging it into a monitor for larger screen usage. Delay between tablet and monitor is minimal for most of what I use it for. But we're here for a tablet review, not a monitor. Battery life is great, sure it could have more but for what it's doing it's a powerhouse. The weight is also a big thing since there isn't a lot to it. It's comfortable to hold for a long time and since it's not cooking your hands, even more so. For emulators I do run the cryo cooler 8 pro on the back of it to assist with cooling but haven't had any stutter yet. That's with me playing cyberpunk 2077, RDR2, Skyrim (of course), and some old console emulators as well. For the mobile game side, Honkai Star Rail and WuWa looking incredible! Arknights Endfield and NTE are some of my other big play time games and they are smooth and responsive.

The camera is always something everyone likes to drag through the mud, but look, it's a GAMING tablet. Same as the phones. In a perfect world sure it would be on the level of the big names for camera quality but it still takes decent photos.

The speakers are insanely loud for the size of the tablet and they don't distort the sound at higher volumes.

And a bonus, you can easily switch profiles so if you've got a significant other or kids, set them up a profile and let them have their stuff to play or watch. It keeps clutter down on screen but they can enjoy it too.

Overall there is nothing that can compete with this thing. The only minor gripe I could really bring up is the finger print scanner button. Sometimes it's finicky and doesn't want to read but it has no issue the next time. Would have preferred an in screen scanner like the phones but that's about it.

This is my second REDMAGIC tablet, and I’m genuinely happy with it. Everything feels smooth, fast, and well put together. I’ve had a great experience with it so far, especially for gaming and everyday use. The quality is exactly what I was hoping for, and I can definitely see myself sticking with REDMAGIC in the future. Easy 5 stars from me.

My son loves his new tablet. The graphics are the best and stays cool no matter how long you play it. Doesn't lag at all. Was well worth the price and wait.

He loves it!

I've been having a BLAST. a blast time with this tablet.
It's the coolest gadget I currently own and boy does it deliver.
The moment I got my hands on this device I . HAVE . NOT . PUT . IT . DOWN .
It runs emulation LIKE BUTTER. (So so smooth)
GET THE RIGHT DRIVERS AND IT TANKS ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING YOU THROW AT IT.

There is still more I want to test on this since I've only had it for about 14 days.
These next few comments are my only 2 personal grievances.
I need more customization options for the launcher!
I've gone through every possible modification setting in developer's option to personalize my device the most I could before even attempting downloading or trying to put my own OS on this thing.

I hope in future updates you guys consider including major UI personalization customization options for users that want to stay within your OS.

2nd comment - Storage
It's the biggest no 1 crux of this device for me atm.
I have tried a few work arounds and I'm working on a few rigs
To maximize storage and battery capacity for this thing.

Overall solid 4.7 / 5.0
